What happens when individual concerns clash with collective concerns? And the short and long-term perspectives mismatch? Interests are conflicting and a social dilemma arises! Designers are called upon solving these dilemmas through experiences that influence people’s behaviour, positively impacting society.
The workshop will focus on using the theory of Social Dilemmas (Van Lange and Joireman, 2008) to identify design challenges in relation to the Sustainable Development goals and apply the Design for Influence methodology (Tromp, 2013) to overcome these challenges and create solutions able to make a true impact in the future.
